Intermont Equestrian Competes In Digital Horse Shows During Fall Semester

Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College

BRISTOL, Va. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IDA and IHSA Teams were able to return to the arena in the fall thanks to a new opportunity from DigitalHorseShow.com. The Wasps showed in three events over the fall, twice in dressage and once in hunter/jumper.

Created because of the COVID-19 pandemic, DigitalHorseShow.com was founded to provide sanctioned online showing opportunities for the United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA). The Intercollegiate Dressage Association (IDA) and Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association (IHSA) have also partnered with DigitalHorseShow.com in order to provide college riders with a chance to compete without having to travel.

Digital Dressage Show I – September 30 - October 9

First Level
- Sophomore Emily Esposito (Virginia Beach, Va.) finished third with a score of 65% while freshman Lindsay Shaw (Newark, Del.) was sixth thanks to a ride of 63.5%.

Upper Training Level
- Senior Delaney Dunne (Kingsport, Tenn.) took fourth in Upper Training, posting a 63.5%.

Lower Training Level
- Sophomore Emily Seaver (Jonesborough, Tenn.) was the reserve champion in Lower Training on a score of 70% while junior Sofia Inchausti (Bloomsbury, N.J.) took fourth with a ride of 68%.

The Awards
- Cazenovia College's Samantha Formoza was the High-Point Rider of the Day thanks to her win at the Introductory Level while Cazenovia's Lily Germano claimed Reserve High-Point Rider of the Day honors after taking first in the Lower Training Level.

Digital Dressage Show II – November 1-10

First Level
- Shaw was the champion at First Level as she posted a score of 73.14% while Esposito took third on a ride of 68.29%.

Upper Training Level
- Dunne was the reserve champion in the level, scoring a 65.93%.

Lower Training Level
- Inchausti picked up a win in Lower Training at 69.81% while senior Kaitlin Meredith (Mashpee, Mass.) was fourth (62.5%) and junior Makalyn Williams (Granville, Ohio) was sixth (59.23%).

The Awards
- Shaw was named High-Point Rider of the Day with her win at the First Level. Rutgers University's Sarah Florentine's champion ride in the Introductory Level resulted in Reserve High-Point Rider of the Day accolades.

Digital IHSA Show – November 2-15

The Results
- Junior Remy Tait (Bainbridge Island, Wash.) was fourth at Intermediate Equitation on the Flat.
- Junior Daniella Lima (Clemmons, N.C.) took first in her section of Novice Equitation while freshman Alex Osborne (Charlottesville, Va.) was fifth in Novice.

The Awards
- Sweet Briar College picked up the team title for the day.
- Elizabeth Novicki of St. Lawrence University claimed High-Point Rider of the Day honors while there was a tie between Cazenovia's Sarah Eveleigh and Sweet Briar's Chloe Kershl for Reserve High-Point Rider of the Day.

Up Next
The IHSA has a digital show scheduled from February 15-25 and there will be three Digital Dressage Shows during the spring semester.
