Intermont Equestrian IHSA Team Wins At High Point On Saturday

E&H IHSA Team following the win at High Point.

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IHSA Team grabbed its second team victory in as many attempts as it earned eight blue ribbons in 13 rides. No E&H rider finished below third on the day.

The Results
- Senior Abby McCoy (Cogan Station, Pa.) took first in Open Equitation Over Fences and on the Flat.
- Senior Josie Sumner (Hampshire, Ill.) and freshman Mia Sisson (Warren, R.I.) both won their class in Intermediate Over Fences.
- In Intermediate on the Flat, senior Emilie Fink (Jamesport, N.Y.) was first while freshman Ava Harry (Wake Forest, N.C.) placed third.
- In Limit Over Fences, senior Emily Wickes (Hesperus, Colo.) won her class while junior Emily Seaver (Jonesborough, Tenn.) took second.
- Senior Makalyn Williams (Granville, Ohio) won at Limit on the Flat as freshman Madison Couperthwait (Otego, N.Y.) was second.
- Novice Equitation saw sophomore Skyler Shaw (Orangeville, Pa.) pick up a win while junior Holly Orfield (Johnson City, Tenn.) took second.
- Freshman Laney Stogdale (New Hope, Va.) was second in her collegiate debut.

The Awards
- E&H won the team title while High Point was the reserve champion.
- McCoy was named High-Point Rider of the Day while Ashely Coppin of HPU took Reserve High-Point honors.
