Intermont Equestrian IHSA Team Sweeps The Weekend At Home Sunday

BRISTOL, Va. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IHSA Team made it a sweep for the weekend, earning its second team-champion finish in as many days at home Sunday.

The Basics

VENUE – Emory & Henry College Equestrian Center

The Results
- Freshman Emma Metzger (Wellington, Fla.) won at Open Over Fences while senior Hayden Wilkes (Shamong, N.J.) was second and senior Abby McCoy (Cogan Station, Pa.) took third.
- In Open Flat, senior Josie Sumner (Hampshire, Ill.) took first place while McCoy was fourth and sophomore Lindsay Shaw (Newark, Del.) was fifth.
- Freshman Maddie Anderson (Fort Myers, Fla.) won at Intermediate Over Fences while freshman Ava Harry (Wake Forest, N.C.) was fourth and freshman Mia Sisson (Warren, R.I.) was fifth.
- In Intermediate on the Flat, senior Madelyn Lowe (Red Lion, Pa.) won while freshman Caroline Cardoza (Glencoe, Ill.) was third.
- Limit Over Fences saw the Wasps win all three classes on the efforts of freshman Amelia Moore (Klamath Falls, Ore.), junior Emily Seaver (Jonesborough, Tenn.) and senior Emily Wickes (Hesperus, Colo.).
- Freshman Caroline Chichester (Blythewood, S.C.) won at Limit on the Flat while freshman Emma Gurley (Rutherfordton, N.C.), was second and Anderson was fifth.
- Novice competition saw freshman Maddie Whitley (Stuarts Draft, Va.) was first while sophomore Sarah Walters (Abingdon, Va.) took fourth and sophomore Skyler Shaw (Orangeville, Pa.) was fifth.
- Freshman Laney Stogdale (New Hope, Va.) closed out the day with a win at Introductory.

- Emory & Henry has concluded the fall portion of its IHSA schedule. The Wasps will be back in action in the New Year.
