Intermont Equestrian IDA Team Takes Top Spot At Virginia Tech Saturday

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IDA Team won two of the four levels and swept the individual honors on its way to a team victory at Virginia Tech on Saturday.

The Basics
TEAM PLACE – 1st/5
LOCATION – Christiansburg, Virginia
VENUE – Flanagan Stables

First Level
Sophomore Lindsay Shaw (Newark, Del.) won the level on a ride of 70.143% as junior Emily Esposito (Virginia Beach, Va.) placed fifth (62.714%).

Upper Training Level
Senior Sofia Inchausti (Bloomsbury, N.J.) grabbed a victory, scoring a 72.759%.

Lower Training Level
Senior Makalyn Williams (Granville, Ohio) took second in her test with a score of 71.346%

Introductory Level
Freshman Kinsey Shankles (Mascot, Tenn.) was second as she turned in a 68.750%.

The Awards
Emory & Henry won the event with 19 points while Virginia Tech was the reserve champion team on 15 points.

Lindsay Borg of Virginia Tech was named the High-Point Rider of the Day as Inchausti earned Reserve High-Point Rider of the Day honors.

Dressage Seat Equitation
In First Level, freshman Ava Harry (Wake Forest, N.C.) was second.

Freshman Kiley McGuinness (West Chester, Pa.) won at Upper Training while and freshman Lina Prillaman (Salem, Va.) got a win at Lower Training

Freshman Elizabeth Mudlaff (Chevy Chase, Md.) closed out the day with a runner-up finish in Introductory.

Up Next
Emory & Henry will close out the IDA regular season with a home show on Saturday, April 2.
