Intermont Equestrian IHSA Team Wins At UNC Greensboro Sunday

RANDLEMAN, N.C. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IHSA Team picked up its second team victory of the season on Sunday, competing at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. The Wasps notched 12 top-two finishes and saw one of their own named Reserve High-Point Rider of the Day.

LOCATION – Randleman, North Carolina
VENUE – Townley Equestrian Center

The Results
- Senior Hayden Wilkes (Shamong, N.J.) was second at both Open Equitation over Fences and Open on the Flat.
- In Intermediate competition, freshman Elizabeth Church (Elk Grove, Calif.) and sophomore Kendall Madison (Westtown, N.Y.) were both second Over Fences. Freshman Derek Holt (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) won at Intermediate on the Flat as sophomore Ava Harry (Wake Forest, N.C.) was second.
- Sophomore Madison Couperthwait (Otego, N.Y.) won her class of Limit Equitation Over Fences and was the runner-up on the Flat. Senior Emily Seaver (Jonesborough, Tenn.) won at Limit Fences while sophomore Emma Gurley (Rutherfordton, N.C.) picked up the victory in Limit Flat.
- In Novice, senior Sydney Fryman (Oxford, N.C.) earned a win with junior Skyler Shaw (Orangeville, Pa.) taking second.
- Junior Brendan Blevins (Troutdale, Va.) rounded out the day with a sixth-place finish at Introductory.

The Awards
- E&H was the team champion and saw Couperthwait take home Reserve High-Point Rider of the Day honors.

- Emory & Henry returns home next Saturday and Sunday for a pair of IHSA shows to close out the fall portion of the season.
