Intermont Equestrian IHSA Team Wins Again On Sunday To Close Out The Fall

BRISTOL, Va. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IHSA Team kept rolling on Sunday to complete the weekend sweep of its home doubleheader. The Wasps earned 12 blue ribbons over the course of 20 rides.

VENUE – Emory & Henry College Equestrian Center

The Results
- Senior Hayden Wilkes (Shamong, N.J.) won at Open Equitation Over Fences and took second at Open on the Flat while junior Lindsay Shaw (Newark, Del.) won at Open Flat. Freshman Derek Holt (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) was second in Open Over Fences.
- In Intermediate Over Fences, sophomores Maddie Anderson (Fort Myers, Fla.) and Liv Abbruzzi (Irmo, S.C.) each won their classes while freshman Sara Bender (Camp Hill, Pa.) won at Intermediate on the Flat with sophomore Caroline Cardoza (Glencoe, Ill.) was second.
- Limit Over Fences action saw sophomore Sierra Smith (Olathe, Kan.) and sophomore Scout Curry (Carmel, Calif.) pick up wins while sophomore Kailey Levin (Cardiff, Calif.) took third.
- Senior Laurel Pollock (New Castle, Va.) won at Limit on the Flat with sophomore Amelia Moore (Klamath Falls, Ore.) taking second and Smith placing third.
- In Novice, junior Alex Osborne (Charlottesville, Va.) won as senior Amelia Bowen (Wytheville, Va.) and sophomore Rachel Reimer (Enid, Okla.) each finished fourth. Sophomore Aloria Best (Newport, N.C.) won her class of Pre-Novice.
- Both junior Brendan Blevins (Troutdale, Va.) and sophomore Hope Christensen (Moroni, Utah) each picked up wins in Introductory.

The Awards
- E&H was the team champion while Wilkes was the Reserve High-Point Rider of the Day.

- Emory & Henry has completed its schedule for the fall. The Wasps will return to action after the New Year.
