PROVIDENCE, N.C. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IHSA Team got the spring portion of its season started on Sunday with a win at Averett University. The Wasps earned a trio of blue ribbons while taking second place in three other classes.

- Freshman Sara Bender (Camp Hill, Pa.) got the day started with a win at Open on the Flat while junior Lindsay Shaw (Newark, Del.) was third at Open Over Fences.
- In Intermediate, freshman Elizabeth Church (Elk Grove, Calif.) placed second on the Flat while sophomore Mia Sisson (Warren, R.I.) competed Over Fences.
- Limit competition saw freshman Reme Sharp (Strasburg, Va.) pick up a win on the Flat with sophomore Madison Couperthwait (Otego, N.Y.) finishing second.
- Senior Holly Orfield (Johnson City, Tenn.) won her Novice class while sophomore Thomas Carter (Asheville, N.C.) was second in Introductory.
