Intermont Equestrian IHSA Team Closes The Fall With Back-To-Back Wins Over The Weekend

BRISTOL, Va. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IHSA Team captured back-to-back wins this weekend to close out the fall season.

SATURDAY

The Basics

LOCATION – Bristol, Virginia
VENUE - Emory & Henry College Equestrian Center

The Results
- Junior Emma Pell (Winchester, Va.) was second at Open Equitation Over Fences while sophomore Sara Bender (Camp Hill, Pa.) was sixth. Open on the Flat saw Pell pick up the win and Bender took third.
- Sophomore  Elizabeth Church (Elk Grove, Calif.) picked up a win at Intermediate Over Fences, and junior Sierra Smith (Olathe, Kan.) was sixth. Intermediate flat saw junior Kendall Madison (Westtown, N.Y.) grab another blue on the flat, while junior Ava Harry (Wake Forest, N.C.) also won her section.
- In Limit Over Fences, junior Madison Couperthwait (Otego, N.Y.) snagged a first-place finish, as well as junior Hannah Wyman (Quincy, Mass.), and sophomore Leah VandenBerg (Camillus, N.Y.) grabbed third. Limit on the Flat competition saw junior Maddie Anderson (Fort Myers, Fla.) pick up a win in her section, while senior Reme Sharp (Strasburg, Va.) was second, and sophomore Emma Hutson (Severna Park, Md. ) was fourth.
- Senior Skyler Shaw (Orangeville, Pa.) was second at Novice on the flat while sophomore Emma Smith (Red Lion, Pa.) also grabbed second, and freshman Maeve Nickloes (Maryville, Tenn.) was fifth.
- Junior Thomas Carter (Asheville, N.C.) took first at Introductory Flat while freshman Kaleb Elswick (Big Rock, Va.) received second. 

The Awards
- Pell was the Reserve High-Point Rider of the Day.

- Junior Emma Pell (Winchester, Va.) was first at Open Equitation Over Fences while sophomore Sara Bender (Camp Hill, Pa.) placed sixth. Open Flat competition saw Pell take her second blue ribbon of the day while Bender was third.
- Juniors Liv Abbruzzi (Irmo, S.C.) and Emma Gurley (Rutherfordton, N.C.) won their sections of Intermediate Over Fences. Intermediate Flat saw junior Mia Sisson (Warren, R.I.)win her class while junior Kendall Madison (Westtown, N.Y.) grabbed second.
- In Limit Over Fences, freshman  Isabella Oglesby (Virginia Beach, Va.) snagged a first-place finish, as well as freshman Grace Simpson (Culpeper, Va.), and junior Caroline Chichester (Blythewood, S.C.) grabbed second. Limit on the Flat competition saw sophomore Leah VandenBerg (Camillus, N.Y.) pick up a win in her section, while senior Reme Sharp (Strasburg, Va.) was third, and sophomore Emma Hutson (Severna Park, Md. ) had a good showing.
- Freshman Maeve Nickloes (Maryville, Tenn.) was first at Novice on the flat while juniors Rachel Reimer (Enid, Okla.) and Brianna Wagner (La Vernia, Texas.) were third.
- Junior Thomas Carter (Asheville, N.C.) took first at Introductory Flat while freshman Kaleb Elswick (Big Rock, Va.) also grabbed a blue ribbon.

The Awards
- Pell was the High-Point Rider of the Day thanks to her pair of victories.

- Emory & Henry will return to competition in February for the spring season.
