Intermont Equestrian IDA Team Wins To Start The Spring Saturday At Home

BRISTOL, Va. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IDA Team started the spring portion of their season with a commanding win on their home turf.

The Basics
TEAM PLACE – 1st/4
LOCATION – Bristol, Virginia
VENUE – Emory & Henry College Equestrian Center

First Level
Senior Lindsay Shaw (Newark, Del.) starts the day by laying down a beautiful test on Coco. She scored a 67.963% to start the wasp's day with a win. Freshman Anna Norton (Charlotte, N.C) piloted Lottie around to earn fifth place and 58.148%.

Upper Training Level
Sophomore Abigail Williamson (Sacramento, Calif.) rode Disco to a win, on a 67.931%. Senior Kiley McGuinness (West Chester, Pa.) finished closely behind Williamson with a 67.586% aboard Will, boasting a 9.0 score on her free walk.

Lower Training Level
Senior Reme Sharp (Strasburg, Va. ) claimed second, riding Jeter to a 66.731%. Senior Skyler Shaw (Orangeville, Pa.) earned third with Iggy, scoring an 8.0 down her final centerline. (62.692%)

Introductory Level
Sophomore Brenna Looney (Bridgewater, Va.) posted the highest score of the day, 70.625%, to win on Fallon. Sophomore Lola Hare (Montpelier, Vt.) rode a lovely test aboard Nobel to score 68.438%.

The Awards
The Wasps won the show with 19 points, while Virginia Tech was the High-Point team, scoring a team total of 15 points.

Dressage Seat Equitation
Junior Ava Harry (Wake Forest, N.C.) rode Hobbs to a second-place finish.

In Upper Training, sophomore Abigail Williamson (Sacramento, Calif.) earned a red ribbon on Scout, while freshman Sydney Deal (Clarksville, Va.) rode Troy for her debut, earning sixth.

In Lower Training, freshman Lacy Barlow (New Church, Va.) rode Fiona to a second-place finish, followed closely by freshman Payton Anderson (Pflugerville, Texas), who earned third on Colette.

Introductory saw freshman Ren Taylor (Hillsboro, Ore.) ride Collette to a blue ribbon finish. Sophomore Elly Gurshpun (Henrico, Va.) posted a second-place finish aboard Leo.
