Intermont Equestrian IDA Team Earns Another Victory Sunday

Intermont Equestrian Team following Sunday (2/25) show.

BRISTOL, Va. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IDA Team continued its spring season on Sunday, adding another win to its collection.

The Basics
TEAM PLACE – 1st/4
LOCATION – Bristol, Virginia
VENUE – Emory & Henry College Equestrian Center

First Level
Senior Lindsay Shaw (Newark, Del.) laid down a simply stunning test aboard Bravo, with notable scores on her lengthenings. She placed fourth with a 64.394%. Freshman Anna Norton (Charlotte, N.C.) rode Lottie to a sixth-place finish, with a 62.879%. She scored an 8.0 on her free walk.

Upper Training Level
Sophomore Abigail Williamson (Sacramento, Calif.) rode Grace to third place, on a 67.241%. Senior Kiley McGuinness (West Chester, Pa.) piloted Disco to fourth, earning a 66.897%.  She finished strong with an 8.0 on her final centerline

Lower Training Level
Senior Reme Sharp (Strasburg, Va.) rode Irish to a commanding win, receiving a 69.423%. Senior Skyler Shaw (Orangeville, Pa.) earned a fourth-place finish (64.231%) aboard Iggy, scoring an 8.0 on her centerline.

Introductory Level
Sophomore Brenna Looney (Bridgewater, Va.) posted the highest score of the day again, 73.438%, to win on Fallon. Sophomore Lola Hare (Montpelier, Vt.) had a beautiful test aboard Talisman to earn second with a score of 69.688%.

The Awards
The Wasps won the show with 16 points, while the University of Virginia was the Reserve High-Point team, scoring a team total of 14 points.

Looney was High-Point Rider of the Day thanks to her performance at Introductory.

Dressage Seat Equitation
Junior Ava Harry (Wake Forest, N.C.) rode Dove to a first-place finish.

In Upper Training, sophomore Abigail Williamson (Sacramento, Calif.)  earned a blue ribbon on Hobbs, while freshman Sydney Deal (Clarksville, Va.) rode Scout to a sixth-place finish.

In Lower Training, freshman Payton Anderson (Pflugerville, Texas) placed third, riding Seal.

Introductory saw Freshman Ren Taylor (Hillsboro, Ore.) ride Samson to a third-place finish. Sophomore Elly Gurshpun (Henrico, Va.) earned fourth aboard Collette.
