MILL SPRING, N.C. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College IDA Team posted a dominant performance on team day to earn its record eighth National Championship at the Intercollegiate Dressage Association National Championships. It was the fourth time that the Wasps have won the title under the Emory & Henry moniker and the first since 2018.
This year, the national show is being held at the Tryon International Equestrian Center with Diller Equine as its title sponsor.

Thursday – Individual Championship
Senior Kiley McGuinness (West Chester, Pa.) was the Reserve National Champion at the Upper Training Level with a ride of 68.900%.
The Wasps also had a trio of fourth-place finishes with senior Lindsay Shaw (Newark, Del.) earning a white ribbon at First Level (70.278%). Senior Reme Sharp (Strasburg, Va.) was fourth in the Lower Training Level with a score of 68.365% while sophomore Brenna Looney (Bridgewater, Va.) placed fourth in the Introductory Level at 64.063%.
Rounding out Individual Day was senior Eleanor Boyle (Boyds, Md.), taking sixth in Upper Training, scoring a 67.200%.
Friday – Team Championship
Shaw got the day started by winning the First Level Test at 69.924%. E&H remained at the top of the leaderboard after the Upper Training Level with Boyle taking reserve champion honors on a ride of 69.483%.
The Wasps put some distance between them and second place through the Lower Training Test with Sharp scoring a 70.577% to finish as the champion of the level. Looney sealed the National Championship as she placed fourth in the Introductory Level at 66.406%.
Saturday – DSE Championship
Sophomore Abigail Williamson (Sacramento, Calif.) placed third in Upper Training DSE while freshman Lacy Barlow (New Church, Va.) was fourth in Lower Training DSE. Sophomore Megan Conway (Chittenango, N.Y.) was seventh in Upper Training DSE.
Malloot Memorial Trophy
This year's Malloot Memorial Trophy for Most Valuable Horse was awarded to Allia from Hidden K Stables (home of Wake Forest University Dressage) in Pfafftown, North Carolina. Malloot was a beloved Dutch Warmblood Gelding owned by Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry College, who passed away at the age of 24 in the winter of 2018, and was known for his skills both as an Equitation/Jumper and a Dressage mount.
