Intermont Equestrian IDA Team Takes Second At Virginia Tech Sunday

Intermont Equestrian following Sunday's show at VT.

CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry University IDA Team continued their season at Virginia Tech on Sunday, claiming Reserve High-Point Team of the Day and Reserve High-Point Rider.  

The Basics
TEAM PLACE – 2nd/5
LOCATION – Christiansburg, Virginia
VENUE – Flanigan Stables

First Level
Senior Ava Harry (Wake Forest, N.C.) started the day at 70.454% to earn second, while freshman Rachel Apley (Alden, Mich.) received sixth with a score of 64.848%. 

Upper Training Level
Senior Amelia Moore (Klamath Falls, Ore.) scored 67.241% to finish second in her division.

Lower Training Level
Senior Meaghan Croteau (Sparks, Md.) posted a 70.962%, also earning second.

Introductory Level
Earning Reserve High-Point Rider of the Day, sophomore Bailey Shive (Hot Springs, Ark.) received a 71.562%, which won her division. Freshman Samantha Nappi (Bedford, Mass.) posted a 66.250% to earn fourth.

The Awards
The University of Virginia won the show with 18 points, while Emory & Henry and Virginia Tech both earned 15 points. The Wasps had a higher overall team percentage, which earned them the Reserve High-Point team title, with a team average of 69.552%. Shive was Reserve High Point Rider of the Day.

Dressage Seat Equitation
Sophomore Anna Norton (Charlotte, N.C.) was third at First Level.

Junior Elly Gurshpun (Henrico, Va.) took first place in Lower Training.

Sophomore Bailey Shive (Hot Springs, Ark.)  placed second at the Introductory Level.

Up Next
Emory & Henry will close out the fall portion of the IDA season on Saturday, November 2 and Sunday, November 3 with a pair of home shows.
