Intermont Equestrian IDA Team Takes Top And Second Spots In A Pair Of Home Shows Over The Weekend

IDA Team following their home show on Sunday.

BRISTOL, Va. – The Intermont Equestrian at Emory & Henry IDA Team continued the season with back-to-back podium finishes over the weekend. The Wasps earned High-Point Rider of the Day both days.

SATURDAY

The Basics
TEAM PLACE

LOCATION – Bristol, Virginia
VENUE – Emory & Henry College Equestrian Center

First Level
Senior Ava Harry (Wake Forest, N.C.) opened the day with a big win and a score of 71.667%. Following close behind, senior Maddie Anderson (Fort Myers, Fla.) was second with 66.296%.

Upper Training Level
Senior Amelia Moore (Klamath Falls, Ore.) started her year off with a 68.103%, earning third place. 

Lower Training Level
To start her season, senior Hannah Ferguson (Newport News, Va.) earned a 71.730% to finish second. She was followed by senior Meaghan Croteau (Sparks, Md.), who posted a third-place finish with a 70.384%. 

Introductory Level
Earning herself High-Point Rider, freshman Samantha Nappi (Bedford, Mass.) took home a big win, posting a 76.250%. Sophomore Bailey Shive (Hot Springs, Ark.) received a 69.062%, which earned her second in the division. 

The Awards
The Wasps were High-Point Team, scoring 18 points. The University of Virginia was Reserve High-Point Team with 15 points. 

Nappi was the High-Point Rider of the Day thanks to her win in Introductory Level

Dressage Seat Equitation
Sophomore Anna Norton (Charlotte, N.C.) was third at First Level.

Senior Madison Couperthwait (Otego, N.Y.) was first, while sophomore Cetari White-Anderson (Clatskanie, Ore.) was second. 

Junior Elly Gurshpun (Henrico, Va.) took first place in Lower Training.

Sophomore Bailey Shive (Hot Springs, Ark.) placed first at the Introductory Level.

First Level
Senior Ava Harry (Wake Forest, N.C.) was second, scoring 69.242%. Senior Abigail Williamson (Sacramento, Calif.) was sixth with 65.454%.

Upper Training Level
Continuing her season, senior Amelia Moore (Klamath Falls, Ore.) earned a 71.379%, which placed her first. 

Lower Training Level
Earning High Point Rider of the Day, senior Lydia Hamilton (Aldie, Va.) started their season with a big 73.653%. Senior Meaghan Croteau (Sparks, Md.) was third with a 72.692%.

Introductory Level
Sophomore Bailey Shive (Hot Springs, Ark.) received a 72.500%, which earned her top calling in the division. Freshman Samantha Nappi (Bedford, Mass.) earned second, posting a 70.312%.

The Awards
Virginia tied the Wasps with 17 points but earned High Point Team honors with a team average of 71.879%. The Wasps were the Reserve High Point Team with a  70.311% average.

Hamilton was the High-Point Rider of the Day thanks to her win in Lower Training. 

Dressage Seat Equitation
Sophomore Anna Norton (Charlotte, N.C.) was first at First Level.

Sophomore Cetari White-Anderson (Clatskanie, Ore.) was third, while senior Madison Couperthwait (Otego, N.Y.) was fifth.

Junior Elly Gurshpun (Henrico, Va.) took home another blue in Lower Training.

Sophomore Bailey Shive (Hot Springs, Ark.)  placed fourth at the Introductory Level.
