Emory & Henry Football Holds Sixth Annual Skills Camp

EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Football Program conducted its sixth annual skills camp on the E&H campus from Monday, June 27 to Thursday, June 30. The four-day camp drew 114 participants from the region, up from 90 in 2010.

"It has always been our mission here to give back to the sport of football, and to our society by having opportunities to help young men grow in many domains that are stressed in our camp," said Head Football Coach Don Montgomery. "This camp is the highlight of the summer for our staff because we are able to see young men grow, change and become better men in a short period of time. It is very rewarding."

Campers stayed in Emory & Henry's dorms and had morning and afternoon workouts with the Wasps' coaching staff and players. Each player was given instruction in offensive and defensive techniques, in addition to stretching, callisthenic exercises, weightlifting and speed training.

The 2011 E&H Football season is slated to begin on Saturday, Sept. 3. The Wasps will host Ferrum College at Fred Selfe Stadium at 1:00 p.m. Players will report on August 10 with practice beginning on August 11.
