Emory & Henry’s Kyle Boden Named ODAC Offensive Player Of The Week

FOREST, Va. – Emory & Henry College quarterback Kyle Boden has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, ODAC officials announced Sunday. The sophomore from Knoxville, Tenn., wins the award for the first time in his career.

Boden became the first Emory & Henry quarterback to throw four touchdown passes since the 2007 season (Daniel Booher) as he led the Wasps to a 34-27 come-from-behind victory over Methodist Saturday. Boden had three second-half touchdown passes including the eventual game-winner with 4:15 to play.

The Karns High School graduate connected with nine different receivers on the day as he finished 30-of-52 for 245 yards and four scores. He and DaVon Ross teamed up for two touchdowns, including the game's final score. Boden also threw scoring strikes to Cleo Cooper and Chad Williams. The four touchdowns give Boden 11 TD passes on the season, currently second in the ODAC (14 by Travis Lane, H-SC).

Emory & Henry will enter ODAC play on Saturday when it travels to Ashland, Va., to take on the Yellow Jackets of Randolph-Macon College.
