Tyler Houk Named ODAC Defensive Player Of The Week

FOREST, Va. - Emory & Henry College's Tyler Houk has been selected as the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Football Defensive Player of the Week, ODAC officials announced Sunday afternoon.

The junior from Galax, Va., led all ODAC tacklers with 15 stops this past weekend against Washington and Lee, including seven solo stops.

Houk also came away with a big takeaway for the Wasps' defense. Down 7-0 in the third quarter with the Generals driving, Houk came down with an interception in the E&H end zone to squander a W&L possession that began on their own 12-yard line.

Houk is third for E&H and seventh in the ODAC in tackles this season with 44. He also has two inteceptions on the year.

Emory & Henry will remain at home on Saturday when the Tigers of Hampden-Sydney College visit Fred Selfe Stadium at 1:00 p.m. The contest will be the highlight of the College's annual homecoming celebration.
