Kyle Boden Named ODAC Offensive Player Of The Week

FOREST, Va. - Emory & Henry College junior quarterback Kyle Boden has been named the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week, ODAC officials announced Sunday. The Knoxville, Tenn., native wins the award for the second time in his career.

Boden threw for 335 yards in the team's season opener against Ferrum College, completing 32-of-50 attempts with four touchdowns and no interceptions. For his efforts, the Karns High School graduate was selected as the Offensive MVP of the 2012 Western Virginia Education Classic game, between the Wasps and Panthers.

The 32 pass completions by Boden is good enough to tie for third all-time by an E&H signal caller. Boden holds the school record with 51 completions which he set last year against Hampden-Sydney College. It is the third time in Boden's career that he has thrown for four touchdowns (vs. Greensboro and vs. Methodist, 2011).

Emory & Henry will travel to Maryville College on Saturday to renew the rivalry between the two schools. The Scots lead the series 28-23-2 but the Wasps won the last meeting by a 34-17 score during the 2000 season.
