Senior Linebacker Rennel Marshall Competes In The 2015 National Bowl

EMORY, Va. - Emory & Henry senior linebacker Rennel Marshall (Rustburg, Va.) was selected to play in the 2015 National Bowl Game, an annual post-season all-star game for seniors from non-FBS schools.  These collegiate seniors play in front of several professional football scouts from the National Football League, Arena Football League, Canadian Football League, and more.  The game was played in Miami, Florida on Sunday, December 6 at Ocean Bank Field on the campus of Florida International University.

In the game, Marshall was a member of the blue team which beat the red team by a 16-9 score. Marshall registered four tackles and a pass deflection in the game.

Marshall, who was selected to the All-ODAC second in each of the past two seasons, finished his senior season with 66 tackles, a sack, five tackles for a loss, and a fumble forced, recovered, and interception.  Marshall finished up his career with the Wasps with 245 tackles.

The National Bowl is the elite and only current post-season all-star game to focus on players below D1/FBS that get the opportunity to play in front of several NFL and CFL scouts.  The National Bowl Game confirmed scouts from a number of teams including the Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints, Cleveland Browns, New York Jets, Jacksonville Jaguars, Philadelphia Eagles, Green Bay Packers, St. Louis Rams, Kansas City Chiefs, Winnipeg Blue Bombers, Montreal Alouettes, Saskatchewan Roughriders, AFL China, Philadelphia Soul, Tampa Bay Storm, Jacksonville Sharks, Lehigh Valley Steelhawks, and MLFB will be at the game. Over 10 agent firms were also in attendance.

"This was one of the greatest football experiences I have ever had," Marshall stated. "Just being able to play with all these great players across the country and being able to represent Emory & Henry College and my family is such a great honor."
