Emory & Henry Football Hires Eric Tilson As Recruiting Coordinator And Defensive Line Coach

EMORY, Va. – Emory & Henry College Head Football Coach Curt Newsome has announced addition of Eric Tilson to the coaching staff. Tilson will serve as Recruiting Coordinator for the program in addition to coaching the defensive line.

Tilson, a 2011 graduate of Emory & Henry, returns to his alma mater after coaching the past three seasons at North Park University in Chicago. He served as the defensive line coach, special teams coordinator and strength & conditioning coach for the Vikings.

In addition to coaching collegiately, Tilson has coached football internationally in both Germany and Denmark. In 2012, Tilson served as the offensive line coach and co-offensive coordinator for the AFC Paderborn Dolphins (Germany). He also played on the squad as an offensive lineman. In the summer of 2014, Tilson returned to Europe to work as the offensive coordinator for the AFC Horses Stallions in Denmark.

A four-year letterwinner at Emory & Henry from 2007-10, Tilson played in 32 games on the offensive line and was a captain his senior year. The Greeneville, Tennessee native served as a graduate assistant during the 2011 season while completing his Master's Degree in Education. Tilson earned a bachelor's degree in physical education from Emory & Henry in 2011.
