EMORY, Va. - The Emory & Henry Football Team rounded out the home portion of its schedule last week with its 38-30 loss to Hampden-Sydney College bringing the season to record to 2-6 (1-4 ODAC). Despite the struggles endured this season, the Wasps have the opportunity to end the year on a high note with wins in the next two weeks. E&H begins the two-game road trip at The Apprentice School Saturday.

Last Meeting
The Wasps and Builders have met eight times, beginning in 1937, with the series tied, 4-4. The squads last met in a home-and-home series in 2006 and 2007, with Emory & Henry winning both games, 16-7 and 35-14, respectively.

Emory & Henry
Kevin Saxton
(Monroe, N.C.) threw for a career-high 391 yards in last week's loss against Hampden-Sydney. The senior quarterback also connected on three touchdown passes. With his career performance, Saxton also became the school's all-time leading passer and now sits atop the list at 8,536 career passing yards. Saxton will look to add to that total in the final two games of his career.

Defensively, the Wasps are still struggling a bit. Emory & Henry is last in the ODAC in scoring defense and is second to last in yards allowed. However, E&H has created more turnovers and sacked the quarterback more often in the past two weeks. The Wasps will look to continue that positive trend against a struggling Apprentice School this weekend.

The Apprentice School
The Builders are currently 1-7 on the season with their win coming against Greensboro College in game one. Apprentice is averaging a shade under 300 yards per game and has turned the ball over 16 times. The Wasps' defense will look to capitalize on the mistakes of The Apprentice School offense.

Game Information
Kickoff between the Wasps and the Builders is set for 1:00 p.m. at Apprentice Athletic Facility in Newport News.

Fans who are unable to make the trip to the Tidewater are reminded that all Emory & Henry football games are broadcast live on 90.7 FM WEHC in Southwest Virginia and on the Internet at www.wehcfm.com.
