MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Emory & Henry College senior defensive back Justin Banks has been named to the D3football.com Team of the Week presented by Scoutware, D3football.com officials announced late Monday. Banks wins the award after leading the Wasps to a 45-29 victory over Ferrum College on Saturday night.

The Coeburn, Virginia, native and Eastside High School graduate, is the first Emory & Henry player since Week Two of the 2014 season to earn D3football.com Team of the Week honors.

Banks made nine tackles, including seven solo stops and one tackle for loss, to pace the E&H defensive backfield Saturday at FC. He also picked off a pass early in the fourth quarter that set up a touchdown drive which put the Wasps ahead 38-20 with 10:30 left to play.

Emory & Henry (1-0, 1-0 ODAC) is idle this week and will next take the field on Saturday, September 15 when it hosts Methodist University in a non-conference matchup. Kickoff between the Wasps and Monarchs is set for 1:00 p.m., at Fred Selfe Stadium.
