Emory & Henry Sees Three Named To D3football.com All-South Region Teams

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Emory & Henry College Football Team has seen one a trio of players selected to the 2019 D3football.com All-South Region Teams, D3football.com officials announced Tuesday.

It is the fourth time in five years that Emory & Henry has been represented on the D3football.com All-South Region Team with a total of nine selections over that span.

Senior defensive end Da'von Keith (Columbia, S.C.) and senior wide receiver Derrick Yates (Abingdon, Va.) were named to the All-South Second Team while senior defensive tackle Josh Fleenor (Christiansburg, Va.) was tabbed to the third team. All three players were selected to the All-ODAC First Team last month.

Keith earns his second All-South nod from the publication after garnering third-team laurels in 2016. He led the league with 16.5 tackles for loss and 12 sacks and finished with a total of 39 stops on the year. Keith also scored a trio of touchdowns on the year, scooping up a pair of fumbles and added a score after a blocked punt.

Yates caught a league-high 64 passes for 1,051 yards and 15 touchdowns on the year. He had four games with more than 100 yards receiving including an E&H single-game record of 265 yards on 13 catches against Hampden-Sydney. Yates set additional records for season and career receiving over the course of the year.

Fleenor makes it two times on the All-South Team from D3football.com, also earning a third-team pick in 2017. He finished with the second-most tackles on the team from his place in the interior defensive line with 53 including 7.5 tackles for a loss. Fleenor added a pass defended and a blocked kick on the season.

With the all-region accolades, these three players are now eligible to receive All-America honors from D3football.com.
