ROCK HILL, S.C. - Emory & Henry College freshman kicker Trace Butcher (Dacula, Ga.) has been selected as the South Atlantic Conference Football Special Teams Player of the Week, league officials announced Monday. He is the third E&H football player and the second specialist this year to earn Player of the Week honors from the league office.

Butcher hit all three of his extra points and added three field goals for 12 of E&H's 32 points against Erskine College on Saturday. He connected on field goals from 39, 27 and 44 yards, tying his career-long. With that 44-yarder, he also tied the E&H record for field goals in a season with 14.

On Monday, October 3, senior kicker Cameron Jones (Jacksonville, N.C.) was selected as SAC Special Teams Player of the Week after the Wasps' 38-23 Homecoming win over Catawba College.

Emory & Henry (5-5, 4-4 SAC) will close out the 2022 season on Saturday when it visits Limestone University (7-3, 6-2 SAC) in a division crossover contest. Limestone is currently the No. 9-ranked team in NCAA Division II Super Region Two. Kickoff between the Wasps and Saints is scheduled for high noon.
