Peoples finished with 97 all-purpose yards including a pair of touchdown receptions as Emory & Henry downed Glenville State University by a 38-7 score Saturday. He caught three passes for 83 yards and rushed twice for 14 yards. His first score came as a 19-yard catch in the left corner of the end zone midway through the third quarter.

The Reidsville, North Carolina native got his second touchdown after a 54-yard catch-and-run that included him spinning off a downed defender to stay up and speeding to paydirt. That play ended up being the last of the game from scrimmage as the contest was halted due to lightning with 14:49 left in the fourth quarter. After a delay of an hour and 12 minutes, the game was called as official.

This marks the second-straight year that the Wasps have opened the season with a SAC Offensive Player of the Week. Last year, quarterback Charles Mutter, III (King George, Va.) received the honor after throwing for four touchdowns at Concord University (Sept. 2).

Emory & Henry (1-0, 0-0 SAC) will be off this weekend due to its scheduled bye. The Wasps return to action, hosting Bluefield State University (0-1, 0-0 CIAA) on Saturday, September 14 at 1:00 p.m.
