Cann led E&H's defense to a 41-0 victory over Barton College on Saturday. He picked off a pair of passes, forced a fumble which resulted in a turnover, broke up an additional pass and made four tackles to lead the Wasps defense to its first shutout since November 5, 2022.
His first interception came late in the first quarter at the two yardline, breaking up a potential scoring drive by the Bulldogs. On their ensuing drive, Emory & Henry went down the field 98 yards over the next 6:06 to take a 6-0 lead. Cann picked off another pass early in the third quarter and forced a fumble early in the fourth to help the Wasps preserve the shutout.
Saturday's shutout was the first at Fred Selfe Stadium since September 11, 2011 when Emory & Henry defeated Greensboro College, 30-0. The 41-point win was largest since the Wasps beat Erskine College by a 56-14 margin on November 4, 2023.
Emory & Henry (3-0, 1-0 SAC) will play its first road game on Saturday when it visits Limestone University (2-1, 1-0 SAC) at 4:00 p.m.
