As the first published regional rankings of the season, the NCAA has released the list of teams under consideration for the postseason in alphabetical order. Subsequent rankings will be released with the schools in order of their ranking.
The NCAA's regional rankings are the official means of determining the field of teams for the national postseason. Combined with a process known as "earned access," the Division II Football Committee uses these rankings to select the seven teams from each Super Region for the playoffs.
As a member of the South Atlantic Conference, Emory & Henry is placed in Super Region II which consists of the SAC, Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA), the Gulf South Conference (GSC) and the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC).
E&H is one of four members of the SAC to be noted in the rankings as Carson-Newman University, Lenoir-Rhyne University and Wingate University are also listed. The CIAA has three representatives while the GSC has two and the SIAC has one.
Additionally, Emory & Henry is receiving votes for a third-straight week from the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA). This week, the Wasps received 45 votes and find themselves two places outside of the top 25. E&H has made its way into the top 25 in the D2football.com Poll, sitting at 23rd in the country.
