Bruce Tall is entering his first year as an Assistant Football Coach at Emory & Henry. With more than 30 years of college coaching experience at multiple levels of the game, Tall will focus his energy on the E&H defensive line.

Most recently a senior defensive consultant for Mississippi State University during the 2019 season, Tall was on staff for a total of nine years at West Virginia University across two stints with the Mountaineers. During his first period in Morgantown, Tall worked with the safeties and moved into a roll with the defensive line upon his return in 2015. Tall spent four years as the defensive coordinator and defensive line coach at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and three seasons on staff at the University of Michigan, coaching the defensive line.

Tall jumped into the Football Bowl Subdivision (Division I-A), during the 2002 season as the defensive line coach at Western Michigan University. He was the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Harvard University from 1998 to 2001 and served in the same role at Northeastern University for five years (1993-97). Tall spent nine seasons across three stints at his alma mater, Ohio Wesleyan University, including his final six years as linebackers coach, junior varsity head coach and recruiting coordinator. He also spent one season as an assistant coach at Cornell University.

Tall has helped guide teams to a total of 11 bowl games, including all nine seasons in wich he worked at West Virginia. The Mountaineers won the 2005 Sugar Bowl, 2006 Gator Bowl and 2007 Fiesta Bowl and picked up a victory in the 2015 Cactus Bowl with Tall on the sidelines.

A constant student of the game, Tall has completed multiple internships with National Football League teams including the Detroit Lions (1991, 1999), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1994), Chicago Bears (1998) and Green Bay Packers (2000). A three-year letterwinner in football at Ohio Wesleyan, Tall earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in health & physical education in 1982.
