Emory & Henry Men’s Basketball Holds Annual Team Camp

EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Basketball Team held its annual team camp from Monday, June 25 through Thursday, June 28. This year, 30 teams with more than 350 players from three different states came to the campus of E&H to participate in the camp.

The camp was administered by E&H Head Coach Paul Russo, Assistant Coach Jarell Christian and current and former Wasp players.

"This was one of the best fields we have had in years," said Russo. "It made for some really great competition."

The emphasis of the camp was team play, as every team was guaranteed to play seven games over the course of the camp. Thursday morning consisted of the team tournament, where Watauga [N.C.] High School defeated Salem High School by a 58-56 score in the finals seconds of the contest. Watauga took home the JV tournament title as well.

"I believe all the teams will take a lot away from this year's camp," added Russo. "Everybody was able to play a lot of games. We are already looking forward to next summer."
