FOREST, Va. - Emory & Henry College's Chase Branscomb has been selected as the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, ODAC officials announced Monday. It is the third time in four weeks that an E&H player has been honored by the league office.

The senior from Bristol, Tennessee led the Wasps to sole position of first place in the league last week with a pair of wins against Lynchburg College (102-81) and Randolph-Macon College (75-65). Branscomb has scored 20 points in three out of the last four games, and is averaging 16.2 points and 8.3 rebounds per contest. He currently sits at sixth in the league in scoring and is the number five rebounder.

Against Lynchburg Thursday, Brancomb became the first player since December of 2014 to reach the 30-point plateau, scoring 34 points on 14-for-22 shooting with 11 rebounds. He continued his week on Saturday with 20 points on 8-for-12 shooting from the field for 20 points and nearly made it back-to-back double-doubles with nine rebounds against Randolph-Macon.

For the week, the Tennessee High School graduate averaged 27 points and 10 rebounds, shooting 65 percent from the field and 70 percent at the free throw line.

Emory & Henry (16-1, 8-0 ODAC) is undefeated through the first half of the conference season for the first time since the 1992-93 season when it won its first 10 ODAC contests. E&H has its best record through 17 games in over 30 years, recently topping its best start since that 1992-93 campaign when it reached the NCAA Division III Sweet 16.

The Wasps will travel to face the WildCats of Randolph College (4-13, 1-7 ODAC) on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m.
