Daniel Spencer Named ODAC Men’s Basketball Player Of The Week

FOREST, Va. - Emory & Henry College's Daniel Spencer has been selected as the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week, ODAC officials announced Monday. It is the second time this year and third time in his career that Spencer has received weekly honors from the league office.

The junior from Concord, North Carolina led Emory & Henry to a 2-0 week, averaging 24.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game. He shot 56.3 percent (18-for-32) from the field and connected on seven three-point baskets over the two games.

In Wednesday's win over Roanoke College, Spencer scored 17 points in Wednesday's 76-56 rout of Roanoke College. He went 7-for-15 from the field and added six assists, four rebounds, three blocks and two steals.

Saturday at Hampden-Sydney College, he led all players with 32 points on 11-for-17 shooting with six three-pointers made. Spencer added nine rebounds, five assists and three steals.

Emory & Henry (12-6, 5-4 ODAC) has won three in a row and currently sits in seventh place in the ODAC. The Wasps will be back in action on Saturday when they host Washington and Lee University at 2:00 p.m.
