LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Transylvania University Men's Basketball Team (3-0) saw five players reach double figures in scoring on its way to a 97-71 win over visiting Emory & Henry College (1-1) Friday in a non-conference contest.

How It Happened
- The Wasps and Pioneers went back and forth through the opening five minutes of the game with Transy getting a 12-8 lead. Transylvania built a 29-15 advantage thanks to a 17-7 run that covered six minutes midway through the half.
- Emory & Henry stormed back into the game with a 25-10 capped by a three-pointer from senior guard Colin Molden (Apex, N.C.) to go up 40-39 with 17 second to go before the break, but Transylvania scored the final two points of the half for a 41-40 lead.
- With the score tied at 45-all and 17:37 on the clock, the Pioneers scored the next 15 points to lead 60-45. E&H was able to hold the margin in the mid-teens for much of the second half, but Transylvania pulled away late for the 97-71 final score.
Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Senior guard Colin Molden (Apex, N.C.) led all players with 21 points, hitting a quartet of three-pointers, and added seven assists and three rebounds while senior guard Robert Holliday, Jr. (Kansas City, Kan.) had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
- Sophomore guard Micah Banks (Simpsonville, S.C.) put up 12 points, three boards and three assists as sophomore guard Anthony Williams (Lynchburg, Va.) contributed nine points and three rebounds off the bench.
Transylvania Individual Leaders
- Gabe Schmitt posted 20 points and six rebounds while Lucas Gentry scored 16 points and points and pulled down six rebounds.
- Michael Jefferson had 15 points, eight assists and six rebounds while Zach Larimore notched 14 points and eight rebounds.
- Dominique Turner finished with 10 points, seven rebounds and three blocks.
A Deeper Look
- Transylvania shot 50 percent (38-for-76) for the game and went 13-for-16 (81.3%) at the line.
- Emory & Henry managed just 24-for-67 (35.8%) on its field goal attempts despite hitting 12 three-pointers.
- TU led 51-32 on the boards including a 10-4 margin on the offensive glass. The Pioneers also led, 48-22, on points in the paint and 13-3 on second-chance points.
