Lynchburg Men’s Basketball Downs Emory & Henry, 88-64, Saturday In ODAC Contest

EMORY, Va. – The University of Lynchburg Men's Basketball Team (11-5, 6-1 ODAC) scored 54 of its 88 points in the paint on the way to a victory over Emory & Henry College (3-13, 0-7 ODAC) by a 88-64 score Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened
- The Hornets built a 22-12 lead at the 13:30 mark of the first half and ran their advantage to 19 with a 16-7 run which covered 2:45. E&H closed the gap to nine (38-47) late in the period before Lynchburg went into the break up, 52-42.
- Up by a 12-point margin early in the second period, the Hornets used an 18-4 run to get their biggest lead of the game (77-51) with 6:54 left to play. The Wasps closed the gap down to 82-64 with a 13-5 run but six in a row by Chance Greene to close out the game was good for the 88-64 final margin.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Sophomore guard Anthony Williams (Lynchburg, Va.) scored a career-high 19 points and came up one rebound short of a double-double to lead the Wasps while senior guard Colin Molden (Apex, N.C.) went for 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists.
- Sophomore guard Jake Martin (Wytheville, Va.) and freshman guard Malcolm Morgan (Concord, N.C.) each had seven points off the bench.

Lynchburg Individual Leaders
- T.C. Thacker and Cody Lang both went for double-doubles in the contest as Thacker led all players with 26 points, 14 rebounds and two blocks. Lang had 13 points, 13 boards, three assists and three steals.
- Greene finished with 13 points while Luke Romeo added 13 points off the bench, going 3-for-7 from beyond the arc.

A Deeper Look
- Emory & Henry shot 35.4 percent (23-of-65) for the game with 10 three-pointers while Lynchburg hit 37-of-75 (49.3%) of its field goals, with seven makes from long range.
- The Hornets dominated down low, out-rebounding the Wasps, 55-34, and holding a 54-18 advantage on second-chance points.
