Emory & Henry Men’s Basketball Rallies To Defeat Roanoke, 78-77, Wednesday At Home

EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Basketball Team (5-16, 2-10 ODAC) saw five of its players reach double figures in scoring on its way to a come-from-behind 78-77 win over Roanoke College (12-8, 6-5 ODAC) Wednesday evening in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference showdown.

How It Happened
- Roanoke stormed out to a 12-0 lead just three minutes into the contest and pushed its advantage to 17-1 with 15:51 on the clock. The Maroons would go up by a 33-11 score midway through the opening period before the Wasps began to chip away at the deficit.
- E&H went two-for-one against RC for the remainder of the half, closing the gap to 45-33 at the intermission.
- Coming out of the break, the Wasps went on a 19-6 run to take their first lead of the game, 52-51, on a three-point play by freshman guard Malcolm Morgan (Concord, N.C.). Roanoke answered back to go ahead, 60-57, with 10:11 on the clock, but Emory & Henry responded with the next six points to regain the lead.
- The two squads would battle through two ties and two lead changes in the final five and a half minutes as E&H was able to come away with the 78-77 victory.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Senior guard Colin Molden (Apex, N.C.) had 19 points, nine assists, five rebounds and two steals while freshman forward Dylan Catron (Chilhowie, Va.) added 12 points and four rebounds.
- Sophomore guards Jake Martin (Wytheville, Va.), Anthony Williams (Lynchburg, Va.) and Micah Banks (Simpsonville, S.C.) chipped in 10 points each.

Roanoke Individual Leaders
- Kasey Draper led the Maroons with 19 points and nine rebounds while Tripp Greene had 16 points.
- Caleb Jordan tacked on 15 points, four rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks.

A Deeper Look
- Emory & Henry made 27-of-58 (46.6%) of its shots, hitting 53.1 percent (17-of-32) in the second half. The Wasps went 14-for-20 (70%) at the free throw line.
- Roanoke shot 50.9 percent (27-for-53) for the game and was 19-for-26 (73.1%) from the charity stripe.
- RC posted a 37-26 rebounding advantage and led, 44-32, on points in the paint.
- The Wasps made the most of 13 turnovers by the Maroons, holding a 15-10, lead on possessions following miscues.
