FOREST, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Basketball Team has been chosen to finish 11th during the Old Dominion Athletic Conference season this year, ODAC officials announced Wednesday afternoon. The poll is voted on by the 13 head coaches in the league.

Second-year head coach Ben Thompson led the Wasps to a 7-19 (4-12 ODAC) mark a year ago. E&H reached the ODAC Tournament as the #10 seed, falling to Ferrum College, 87-84, in the first round. This season's squad is made up of 14 players with six newcomers, three of whom join the Wasps after successful community college careers.

Randolph-Macon College is the favorite to win the league, earning 10 of 13 first-place votes. Virginia Wesleyan University is second with the final three first-place votes as Washington and Lee University, Roanoke College and University of Lynchburg round out the top five.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the ODAC created a single round-robin schedule with 12 conference games for each team. The ODAC Tournament will feature four teams for 2021 with tournament games taking place on-campus this year. Fans are reminded that per conference policy, spectators are not permitted at indoor events for the spring 2021 semester. Fans are encouraged to tune in online at www.GoWasps.com/live.

Emory & Henry will begin the 2020-21 season on Tuesday, February 2 with a contest at Roanoke College (7 p.m.). The Wasps cancelled their first three games scheduled for January 23, 28 and 30 earlier this week.
