EMORY, Va. – The Hampden-Sydney College Men's Basketball Team (1-4, 1-3 ODAC) earned a 76-62 Old Dominion Athletic Conference victory over Emory & Henry College (0-2, 0-2 ODAC) Friday evening.

How It Happened
- Emory & Henry jumped out to a 10-2 lead 3:12 into the contest and went up by a 19-10 score with 13:33 on the clock. The Tigers then went on a 14-3 run to take a 24-22 advantage with 7:40 to go before the intermission. The squads traded baskets for the final minutes of the opening half with HSC closing on a 9-2 run for a 39-32 halftime lead.
- Coming out of the break, Hampden-Sydney started off with an 8-2 run to lead by a 47-34 margin. The Wasps slowly carved into the deficit, getting within four (51-47) with 12:24 remaining, but an 8-1 run by the Tigers stretched the margin back to double digits, 59-48.
- Up by seven with 7:56 to play, HSC scored seven in a row to lead 66-52. The Wasps would get no closer than 11 the rest of the way as the Tigers led by as many as 17 (74-57) on their way to the 76-62 win.
Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Senior guard Robert Holliday, Jr. (Kansas City, Kan.) scored a team-high 15 points to go along with seven rebounds and three assists while junior guard Micah Banks (Simpsonville, S.C.) had 13 points, four rebounds and three steals.
- Junior guard Tyler Arnold (Kingsport, Tenn.) and sophomore guard Kevin Grau Rodriguez (Tampa, Fla.) posted seven points apiece while freshman guard Patrick Antonelli (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) dished out five assists and had three boards.
Hampden-Sydney Individual Leaders
- Josiah Hardy led all players with 16 points and added six rebounds and three steals while Jake Hahn recorded a double-double with 13 points, 11 rebounds and six assists.
- Ryan Clements scored 14 points off the bench while Adam Brazil tallied 12 points, six rebounds and three steals.
A Deeper Look
- Emory & Henry went 23-for-62 (37.1%) for the game with six makes from long range. The Wasps hit 71.4 percent (10-of-14) of their free throws.
- Hampden-Sydney shot 46.9 percent (30-for-64) on the evening but struggled to make just two three-pointers. The Tigers made 14-of-19 (73.7%) of their free throws.
- HSC held a 45-33 rebounding advantage and dominated the scoring down low, 50-30. The Tigers also outscored the Wasps, 23-17, on points off turnovers.
- E&H made the most of the transition game, leading 16-7 on fast break points.
