Emory & Henry Men’s Basketball Takes On Radford In Exhibition Tuesday Evening

RADFORD, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Basketball Team faced off against Radford University (1-0) in an exhibition on Tuesday evening. The Highlanders won contest, 84-72, in their first meeting with the Wasps since the start of the 2010-11 season.

How It Happened
- The Highlanders got out to a 13-5 lead at the 15:47 mark of the opening half and pushed the margin to 24-10 with 10:33 on the clock. Up 30-24, Radford closed the half on a 15-5 run to make it a 45-29 contest.
- Emory & Henry opened the second half on an 11-4 run to close the gap to 49-40. Fourteen straight by Radford pushed the margin back out to 63-40 with 10:36 to play. Down 75-50 with 4:58 to play, the Wasps went on a 20-3 run to make it 70-78 with just 42 seconds remaining. The Highlanders scored six of the last eight points for the 84-72 final margin.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Junior Kevin Grau Rodriguez (Tampa, Fla.) led the Wasps with 19 points off the bench, hitting four three-pointers as he added seven rebounds and two assists while sophomore guard Patrick Antonelli (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) had 14 points and four assists.
- Junior guard Malcolm Morgan (Concord, N.C.) scored 11 points with four steals and two assists while junior forward Dylan Catron (Chilhowie, Va.) had nine points and three boards off the bench.

Radford Individual Leaders
- Five different Highlanders scored in double figures led by Camron McNeil's 17 points, four rebounds and two assists.
- Rashun Williams and Dravon Mangum each had 13 points while Josiah Jeffers went for 11 points, three steals, two rebounds and two assists. Bryan Hart tacked on 11 points, three boards and three assists.

A Deeper Look
- Radford shot 55.4 percent (31-for-56) from the field while Emory & Henry made 27-of-57 (47.4%) of their shots. The Highlanders hit 11 three-pointers in the contest, compared to eight for the Wasps.
- RU held a 35-29 rebounding advantage and a 36-30 lead on points in the paint.
- The Wasps led 22-20 on points off turnovers and tied 11-11 on second-chance points.

- Emory & Henry will officially get the 2021-22 season underway when it hosts Alice Lloyd College in the first of three games in the Food City Tip-Off Classic Friday afternoon at 5:30 p.m.
