Emory & Henry Men’s Basketball Beats D’Youville, 83-60, Tuesday Afternoon At The Barclays Center

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Basketball Team (7-3) picked up an 83-60 win over D'Youville College (1-9) Tuesday afternoon at the Barclays Center, home of the NBA's Brooklyn Nets. The contest was the first away from Bob Johnson Court for the Wasps this year as they opened the year with nine straight home games.

How It Happened
- The Saints scored the first four points of the game but the Wasps went on a 22-4 run covering the next eight minutes to go ahead 22-8. D'Youville took eight of the next 11 to close the gap to nine (25-16) with 7:18 on the clock. Emory & Henry would lead, 36-25, at the intermission.
- Returning to action, E&H found itself ahead by nine (40-31) with 17:33 on the clock before a 12-1 run stretched the advantage out to 52-32 four minutes later. The Wasps stretched their advantage to as much as 32 down the stretch, cruising to the 83-60 victory.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Freshman forward Gabe Brown (Clintwood, Va.) led all players with 19 points and added six rebounds and two blocks while junior guard Malcolm Morgan (Concord, N.C.) posted 13 points, five boards, three assists and two steals.
- Freshman guard Jalen Leftwich (Lynchburg, Va.) posted 11 points and three assists as freshman guard Jacob Morgan (Huntersville, N.C.) scored 10 points off the bench.
- Freshman forward Cade Looney (Grundy, Va.) went for nine points, nine rebounds and two blocks while senior guard Micah Banks (Simpsonville, S.C.) tallied eight points, seven boards three assists and two steals.

D'Youville Individual Leaders
- Mason Putnam paced the Saints with 17 points, going 7-for-11 from the field. Latrell Butler registered seven points, six rebounds and two assists while Rod Johnson went for six points.

A Deeper Look
- Emory & Henry shot 46.5 percent (33-for-71) for the afternoon with eight three-pointers. The Wasps made just 9-of-19 (47.4%) of their free throws.
- D'Youville hit just 24-of-72 (33.3%) of its shots and was a frigid 8.3 percent (1-for-12) from long range. The Saints went 11-for-16 (68.8%) at the stripe.
- E&H held a 51-43 rebounding advantage and used 15 offensive boards for a 17-12 edge on second-chance points. The Wasps also led the Saints, 48-34, on points in the paint and 14-9 on points off turnovers.
