Emory & Henry Men’s Basketball Blows Out Brewton-Parker, 86-55, Saturday On The Road

MOUNT VERNON, Ga. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Basketball Team (8-4) saw five players reach double figures in scoring as they defeated Brewton-Parker College (1-15) in a rout, 86-55, Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened
- The Barons got out to an 11-3 lead at the 17:10 mark of the first half but the Wasps responded to tie things up at 16 on their way to a 25-16 advantage. BPC closed the gap to five (25-20) with 8:09 to go before the break but E&H used a 14-2 run to go up, 44-25. Emory & Henry took a 46-31 margin into the intermission.
- Returning to action, Brewton-Parker got within seven at 49-42 in the first three minutes of the second half. The Wasps put up a 24-2 run late in the half to make it a 30-point game (79-49), cruising to the 86-55 win.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Freshman guard Gabe Brown (Clintwood, Va.) led the Wasps with 20 points on 4-for-6 three-point shooting to go along with eight rebounds and two steals.
- Senior guard Micah Banks (Simpsonville, S.C.) had 14 points, two rebounds and two assists while junior guard Malcolm Morgan (Concord, N.C.) posted 13 points, five assists, three rebounds and two steals.
- Freshman forward Cade Looney (Grundy, Va.) notched 10 points and four boards while junior guard Kevin Grau Rodriguez (Tampa, Fla.) went for 12 points, six rebounds, three assists and two steals off the bench.

Brewton-Parker Individual Leaders
- Emmanuel Green paced the Barons with 15 points, four steals, three rebounds and two assists as Vaquarious Brown tallied 12 points and three boards.
- Bryce Wilson contributed 10 points and two assists.

A Deeper Look
- Emory & Henry shot 48.1 percent (26-for-54) for the game with 10 three-pointers. The Wasps were nearly automatic at the free throw line, making 24-of-28 (85.7%) of their attempts.
- Brewton-Parker went 21-for-54 (38.9%) from the field and made just three shots from distance. The Barons also struggled at the stripe, hitting only 43.5 percent (10-of-23) of their free throws.
- E&H held a 38-26 rebounding advantage and led 16-6 on second-chance points. The Wasps scored 30 points off 17 Baron turnovers.
- BPC led, 26-10, on points in the paint.
