Emory & Henry Men’s Basketball Beats Voorhees, 96-95, With Last-Second Basket Wednesday

DENMARK, S.C. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Basketball Team (9-4) hit the game-winning shot with .5 seconds to go in overtime to escape with a 96-95 win over Voorhees College (1-13) Wednesday afternoon on the road.

How It Happened
- The two teams battled to an 86-86 all tie during regulation, forcing overtime.
- In the extra period, E&H went up 93-90 before a three-pointer by VC knotted the contest again. After the Tigers pushed ahead 95-94 with 20 seconds remaining, Wasp freshman forward Cade Looney (Grundy, Va.) made a stick-back layup to take a 96-94 lead with just .5 seconds to go. The ensuing inbounds play saw Voorhees hit a half-court shot, but time expired before the ball was released, giving Emory & Henry the win.
