Emory & Henry Men’s Basketball Blows Out Appalachian Bible, 129-44, Tuesday At Home

EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Basketball Team (10-4) reached the 10-win mark for the first time since the 2018-19 season on Tuesday evening, defeating Appalachian Bible College (0-7) in a rout, 129-44.

The 85-point margin of victory was the most in school history, topping a 72-point win against Savannah College of Art & Design on December 6, 1992. The 129 points put up by the Wasps were the most since they scored a school-record 154 against Eastern Mennonite University on January 27, 2008.

How It Happened
- Emory & Henry got out to an 8-0 lead at the 17:55 mark of the opening half. The Warriors tied things up at 15-all thanks to a 15-7 run. E&H then began to build its lead, using a 28-4 run to go ahead 43-19 with 6:30 to go before the break. The Wasps led by as many as 38 (61-23) before the break, going into the locker room up, 64-30.
- A 35-8 run to start the second pushed Emory & Henry over the 100-point mark for the first time since its win over Warren Wilson College on March 11, 2020. The Wasps went to their bench early with each player who suited up playing at least 11 minutes on their way to the 129-44 win.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Junior guard Kevin Grau Rodriguez (Tampa, Fla.) posted a game-high 35 points, earning a double-double with 10 rebounds and seven assists.
- Freshman guard Jacob Morgan (Huntersville, N.C.) had 19 points off the bench, adding nine rebounds while freshman forward Cade Looney (Grundy, Va.) went for 16 points and 13 rebounds for a double-double.
- Freshman guard Jalen Leftwich (Lynchburg, Va.) posted 16 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals while junior guard Malcolm Morgan (Concord, N.C.) went for 14 points and three assists.

Appalachian Bible Individual Leaders
- Jonathan Brooks paced the Warriors with 25 points and four rebounds while the next-leading scorer was Simon McAlister with eight points and Silas Wertz went for six points.

A Deeper Look
- Emory & Henry shot 56.4 percent (53-for-94) for the game, scoring 88 points in the paint. The Wasps were also 16-for-21 (76.2%) at the free throw line.
- Appalachian Bible only managed to hit 17-of-66 (25.8%) of their shots and went 5-for-7 (71.4%) at the stripe.
- E&H held a 74-20 rebounding advantage and outscored ABC 42-0 on second-chance points with 26 offensive rebounds.
