Emory & Henry Men’s Basketball Routs Warren Wilson, 98-48, Monday At Home

EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Basketball Team (14-4) ran its winning streak to seven games with a 98-48 drubbing of Warren Wilson College (3-11) Monday evening. Six players scored in double figures for the Wasps, who eclipsed the 90-point barrier for the sixth game in a row.

How It Happened
- The Wasps and Owls battled through two ties and four lead changes over the opening 5:41 of the game with E&H taking a 9-8 lead. A 19-4 Emory & Henry run made it a 25-12 contest with 10:45 on the clock but Warren Wilson answered to cut the deficit to six (27-21) two and a half minutes later. Leading by nine, E&H closed the half on a 12-2 run for a 48-29 advantage at the break.
- After the Owls scored the opening basket of the second half, the Wasps put up 25 in a row to extend the margin to 42 (73-31) with 11:35 to play. Leading 89-46 with less than four minutes to go E&H finished on an 11-2 run for the final 98-48 score.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Freshman forward Jake Moynihan (Muncie, Ind.) led the way with 15 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks while freshman forward Jacob Morgan (Huntersville, N.C.) went for 15 points and two boards.
- Freshman forward Cade Looney (Grundy, Va.) posted 14 points and four rebounds as junior guard Kevin Grau Rodriguez (Tampa, Fla.) had 14 points and two assists.
- Senior guard Micah Banks (Simpsonville, S.C.) tacked on 13 points, six rebounds and three assists as freshman guard Jalen Leftwich (Lynchburg, Va.) added 10 points, two assists and two steals.

Warren Wilson Individual Leaders
- Kris Carroll posted 14 points and two rebounds to pace the Owls as Jerry Daye had 10 points and four rebounds.
- Saiquan Bell and Tyler Whiteside contributed six points each off the bench.

A Deeper Look
- Emory & Henry shot 58 percent (40-for-69) for the game with six three-pointers and went 12-for-20 (60%) at the free throw line.
- Warren Wilson made just 20-of-56 (35.7%) of its shots including five triples. The Owls were just 3-of-5 (60%) at the stripe.
- E&H held a 42-27 rebounding advantage and outscored WWC by a 16-7 margin on second-chance points.
- The Wasps dominated scoring down low, beating the Owls, 64-16, on points in the paint.
