EMORY, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Basketball Team (2-1, 0-0 SAC) cruised by The Apprentice School (2-1, 2-0 NSAC) on Sunday afternoon. The Wasps earned the victory by a 87-77 scoreline.

How It Happened
- The two squads started the game trading buckets and the score stood at 10-8 in favor of the visitors at the first media timeout. The Builders continued their hot shooting and pushed the lead to 25-20 before a quick 6-0 spurt from the Wasps pushed them back in front. The remainder of the half was played within a three point margin and the game stood tied at 44-44 heading into the halftime break.
- E&H came out of the locker room on fire, as it used an 11-0 run to establish its biggest lead of the game and force a Builders timeout. The Apprentice School would trim the margin to as few as seven, but the Wasps were able to control throughout the remainder of the half for an 87-77 win.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
-Sophomore guard/forward Gabe Brown (Clintwood, Va.) led the Wasps with 18 points and six rebounds. Sophomore forward Jake Moynihan (Muncie, Ind.) added 15 points, seven rebounds, two steals and a block off of the bench.
- Sophomore guard Jalen Leftwich (Lynchburg, Va.) contributed 11 points, three rebounds, two assists and a block while sophomore forward Jacob Morgan (Huntersville, N.C.) added nine points, four rebounds, an assist and a steal.

The Apprentice School Individual Leaders
- Adrion Wall paced the Builders with 15 points, four rebounds, two assists and a steal. Teammate Karree Smith added 13 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals.
- Marion Moore contributed 12 points, six rebounds and two steals in the loss.

A Deeper Look
- The Apprentice School shot 44.3 percent (31-for-70) from the field while Emory & Henry made 32-of-74 (43.2%) of their shots. The Wasps team hit ten three-pointers in the contest, compared to six for the Builders.
- E&H held a 43-32 rebounding advantage and outscored the visitors by a 24-15 margin in points off turnovers.
