Limestone Men’s Basketball Defeats Emory & Henry, 101-87, Wednesday Night

GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Limestone University Men's Basketball Team (6-8, 2-4 SAC) took down Emory & Henry College (10-5, 2-4 SAC) in South Atlantic Conference action on Wednesday evening. The Saints defeated the Wasps by a 101-87 score.

How It Happened
- The Saints got off to a fast start, running out to a 13-5 advantage after five minutes played. E&H continued to attack the basket, forcing Limestone into early foul trouble and putting the Wasps in the bonus with ten minutes remaining in the opening half. The Saints would knock down consecutive three-pointers to make it 30-16 and force an E&H timeout. The teams traded baskets down the stretch and Limestone took the 49-38 lead into the halftime break.
- Limestone picked up where they left off in the second half, running their advantage to as many as 24 in the early stages. The Wasps would respond and trimmed the deficit to single digits at 81-73 with six minutes to play. The Saints hit big shots in the latter stages of the second stanza and took the decision by a 101-87 margin.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Sophomore guard Gabe Brown (Clintwood, Va.) led the offense with a game-high 24 points, seven rebounds and two blocks while sophomore guard Jalen Leftwich (Lynchburg, Va.) had 15 points, four rebounds and three assists.
- Junior guard Patrick Antonelli (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) posted a double-double with 13 points, 11 assists, five rebounds, two steals and a block.

Limestone Individual Leaders
- Zeb Graham and Jordan Preaster paced the Saints with 20 points and four rebounds each while Graham added four assists.
- Greg McKay contributed a double-double for Limestone with 16 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.

A Deeper Look
- Limestone shot 55.7 percent (39-for-70) from the field while Emory & Henry made 31-of-57 (54.4%) of their shots. Both squads shot over 50% from three-point range, with the home team knocking down 12 baskets compared to ten for the visitors.
- The Saints outrebounded the Wasps by a narrow 35-32 margin and won the points in the paint battle 50-34.

- Emory & Henry will travel to Hickory, North Carolina on Saturday to take on SAC opponent Lenoir-Rhyne University. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m., as the second game of a doubleheader with the women's team.
