Emory & Henry was one of more than 300 programs from all levels of college basketball to receive the Team Academic Excellence Award, which recognizes a team grade-point average of 3.0 during the 2022-23 academic year. Emory & Henry is one of just three schools from the South Atlantic Conference to receive the honor.

In addition, junior Patrick Antonelli (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) has been selected to the 2022-23 NABC Honors Court. The NABC Honors Court includes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the 2022-23 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.

"Education is a core value of the NABC, and we are privileged to recognize these outstanding student-athletes and the coaches and support staff who invest in their development," said NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson. "The hundreds of teams and thousands of players that qualified for NABC academic awards this season are a testament to our sport's ongoing prioritization of success in the classroom."

Emory & Henry posted a 15-13 overall record on the court during the 2022-23 season, including a record of 6-12 in its maiden voyage in South Atlantic Conference play.
