Emory & Henry Men's Basketball Falls To LMU, 92-78, In SAC Home Finale

EMORY, Va. – The Lincoln Memorial Men's Basketball Team (21-7, 15-4 SAC) led the entire game as the Railsplitters defeated Emory & Henry College (5-22, 2-17 SAC) in South Atlantic Conference play Wednesday evening. The visitors topped the Wasps by a 92-78 final score.

How It Happened
- The Railsplitters were hot from the start as they tallied the first eight points of the game to force an E&H timeout. The Wasps responded through the middle stages of the half and closed the gap to just six at 25-19 with just under eight minutes remaining. LMU opened its lead up to as many as 12 and took a 47-37 margin into the halftime break.
- A quick 10-2 run to start the second frame in favor of the visitors pushed their lead out to its largest of the night at 57-39 with 17:25 to play. E&H answered back with an 11-3 run of its own over the following four minutes to close the gap back to within 10 at 60-50. That would be as close as the Wasps would get as the Railsplitters kept the home team at arm's length en route to a 92-78 win. 

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- The Wasps had five different players reach double digits in scoring, led by junior guard Jalen Leftwich (Lynchburg, Va.) with 16 points, six rebounds, four assists and a steal. Sophomore guard Omari Curley (Prince George, Va.) contributed 12 points and three boards while sophomore forward Jacob Dar (Omaha, Neb.) finished with 12 points, six rebounds, one assist and a blocked shot.
- Junior forward Jake Moynihan (Muncie, Ind.) posted 11 points, two rebounds, one helper and a blocked shot. Sophomore forward Marshall Klug (Greensboro, N.C.) recorded 11 points, three assists, two rebounds and a steal.

Lincoln Memorial Individual Leaders
- Wes Enis paced the Railsplitters with a game-high 35 points, four assists and a pair of rebounds while Thomas Allard posted 16 points, eight assists and seven rebounds.
- Martez Brown had a double-double of 19 rebounds, 13 points, four steals, two assists and a blocked shot. 

A Deeper Look
- Emory & Henry shot 38.8 percent (26-for-67) for the game with 12 made three-pointers (36.4%). The Wasps went 14-for-18 (77.8%) at the free throw line.
- Lincoln Memorial converted 32-of-62 (51.6%) of its field goal attempts, connecting on 14 triples for 43.8% from behind the three-point stripe. The Railsplitters knocked down 87.5 percent (14-of-16) of their free throws.
- LMU held the 41-33 advantage on the glass and assisted on 21 of its made baskets, compared to just 12 helpers for the Wasps.
- The Railsplitters outscored E&H 36-24 in the painted area and 11-0 on the fastbreak.
