Emory & Henry Men's Basketball Announces 2024-25 Team & Schedule

EMORY, Va. – With basketball practice officially underway, Emory & Henry University Head Men's Basketball Coach Jimmy Allen is excited to release information about the 2024-25 season. The Wasps' roster consists of 17 players with 10 returners, two transfers and five freshmen.

Joining the team this year are junior transfer Assad Madassalia (Brooklyn, N.Y.), sophomore transfer Rasheed Daniels (Midlothian, Va.) and freshmen Sam Ritchie (Jacksonville Beach, Fla.), Draven Pilson (Winston-Salem, N.C.), Korbin Dixon (Milton, Ontario, CANADA), James Allen, III (Cornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y.) and Cross Chadwick (Blountville, Tenn.).

This year, E&H will play a regular season schedule of 28 games. The South Atlantic Conference season has expanded to a full double round-robin of 24 contests.

The Wasps travel to Flagler College for the Southeast Region Crossover Tournament to kick off the season. On Friday, November 8 E&H will face host Flagler and will close out competition on Saturday, November 9 against the University of South Carolina at Beaufort.

Emory & Henry will play its two true non-conference games at Erskine College on Wednesday, November 13 (5 p.m.) and at home against border rival King (Tenn.) University on Saturday, November 16 (4 p.m.). 

The Wasps jump into SAC action with four league contests between Wednesday, November 20 and Wednesday, December 4. E&H opens league play at home against the University of Virginia's College at Wise on Wednesday, November 20 in the first of a four-game conference homestand. The Wasps will host Lenoir-Rhyne University (Sat., Nov. 23), Carson-Newman University (Tues., Nov. 26) and Coker University (Wed., Dec. 4).

E&H hits the road to round out the calendar year as the Wasps travel to Catawba College (Sat., Dec. 7), Mars Hill University (Sat., Dec. 14), Wingate University (Wed., Dec. 18) and Newberry College (Sat., Dec. 21). 

Emory & Henry returns to action after the Christmas break with a pair of home games against Anderson (S.C.) University (Sat., Jan. 4) and Tusculum University (Wed., Jan. 8), before a road matchup at Limestone University (Sat., Jan. 11). The Wasps return home for a game versus Mars Hill University (Wed., Jan. 15), then travel to Lenoir-Rhyne (Sat., Jan. 18) and perennial conference power Lincoln Memorial (Wed., Jan. 22). E&H concludes January against Newberry (Sat., Jan. 25) and on the road to face Southwest Virginia rival UVA Wise (Wed., Jan. 29).

Wingate visits Emory to start February (Sat., Feb. 1), then the Wasps have back-to-back road games at Tusculum (Wed., Feb. 5) and at Coker (Sat., Feb. 8). The Wasps host Lincoln Memorial (Wed., Feb. 12) and Catawba (Sat., Feb. 15) for Senior Day, before their final road trip of the year at Carson-Newman (Wed., Feb. 19) and Anderson (Sat., Feb. 22). E&H wraps up the regular season on Thursday, February 27 at home against Limestone. 

The South Atlantic Conference Tournament will be played between Tuesday, March 4 and Friday March 7 at the Rock Hill Sports & Event Center. The quarterfinal rounds will be split between Tuesday and Wednesday with the 1/8 and 2/7 games played on Tuesday and the 3/6 and 4/5 games on Wednesday. The semifinals are set for Thursday with the SAC Championship game on Friday, March 7 at 4 p.m.
