Emory & Henry Men’s Golf Opens The Year At Roanoke Wednesday

ROANOKE, Va. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Golf Team got the 2020-21 season started at the Roanoke Spring Invitational on Wednesday. The Wasps finished tied for fourth out of six teams in the single-day, 18-hole event.

Emory & Henry
Senior Wesley Jones (Seymour, Tenn.) finished tied for sixth, shooting a +9 (80) while senior Isfandyar Khan (Lahore, PAKISTAN) carded an 83 (+12) to tie for 14th.

Senior Christofer Schaff (Elizabethton, Tenn.) shot an 84 (+13) which was good for T-17th while junior Alex Cameron (Mascot, Tenn.) and sophomore Chase Maddox (Amherst, Va.) tied for 21st with an 88 (+17)

The Winners
Southern Virginia University won the team title, putting three golfers in the top five with a score of 303 (+19), defeating host Roanoke by 27 strokes. SVU's Nathan Presslar shot a +1 (72) to win the event, beating teammate Jake Hanchett by two strokes.

Up Next
The Wasps will be back in action on Monday, March 22 and Tuesday, March 23 when it competes in the Tusculum Invitational.
