Emory & Henry Men's Golf Sits Seventh After Day One Of The Mountain Empire Intercollegiate Monday

ELIZABETHTON, Tenn. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Golf Team sits in seventh place out of nine teams after 18 holes of competition at The Mountain Empire Intercollegiate, hosted by Milligan University Monday. The Wasps are the only non-scholarship program in the field.

Emory & Henry
Senior Christofer Schaff (Elizabethton, Tenn.) paced the Wasp, shooting a 78 (+6) on Monday to sit tied for 15th. Freshman Sam VanDyne (Max Meadows, Va.) is tied for 30th with a score of 82 (+10).

Junior Roger McClanahan (Mavisdale, Va.) is 12 shots over par (84) and tied for 36th through 18 holes of play while junior Alex Cameron (Mascot, Tenn.) sits tied for 38th at +13 (85). Senior Isfandyar Khan (Lahore, PAKISTAN) is 53rd overall following Monday's round.

The Leaders
Milligan's Brandon Mathis sits atop the leaderboard after shooting a +2 (74) in round one. He leads University of Rio Grande's Levi Chapman by one stroke (75).

The Buffaloes "B-Team" leads the team competition with a score of 305 (+17) while Bluefield College is one shot back in second (306).
