Bridgewater Men’s Golf Beats Emory & Henry On Fifth-Score Tiebreaker Saturday

WEST END, N.C. – The Emory & Henry College and Bridgewater College Men's & Women's Golf Teams met in a pair of dual matches on Saturday.

On the men's side, both squads saw their top four golfers shoot a team total of 321. The Eagles edged the Wasps on a fifth-score tiebreaker as BC posted an 84 to E&H's 91.

The women's competition had Bridgewater picking up the win over Emory & Henry, 339-376. The Eagles scoring players took the top four spots in the individual competition.

The Men
- E&H freshman Peerapol Huangching (Rayong, THAILAND) claimed medalist honors, shooting a +4 (76) while classmate Jhon Ojeda (Cali, COLOMBIA) was the runner-up at 78 (+6).
- Freshman Alex Boone (Clyde, N.C.) tied for sixth with an 83 (+11) as sophomore Jason Hall (Dublin, Va.) notched an 84 (+12) to tied for eighth. Freshman Trent Gehringer (Fleetwood, Pa.) was the final team scorer for E&H, carding a +19 (81) as he finished 14th.
- Sophomore Sam Vandyne (Max Meadows, Va.) finished in a three-way tie for eighth (84; +12) while fifth-year Isfandyar Khan (Lahore, PAKISTAN) was 11th at +13 (85).

The Women
- Freshman Reece Chasteen (Lake City, Fla.) was E&H's top golfer, finishing in a three-way tie for fifth at 90 (+18) while freshman Lexi Humbert (Greeneville, Tenn.) shot a 92 (+2) which was good for eighth.
- Sophomores Emily Smelcer (Walland, Tenn.) and McKenna Quillen (Abingdon, Va.) were ninth (93; +21) and 10th (101; +29), respectively as freshman Briah Frisbee (Leicester, N.C.) shot a 104 (+32) to finish 11th.
- Freshman Maggie Jolly (Troutman, N.C.) was 13th overall at 133 (+41) playing as an individual.
