Emory & Henry Men's Golf Ninth After Round One Of The Maryville Invitational Monday

LENOIR CITY, Tenn. – The Emory & Henry College Men's Golf Team sits ninth out of 14 squads at +40 (328) after the first round of the Maryville College Invitational Monday. The event is being held at Wind River Golf Course in Lenoir City, Tennessee.

Emory & Henry
Sophomore Alex Boone (Clyde, N.C.) leads the Wasps after putting together a round of +7 (79) on Monday to sit tied for 23rd overall while sophomore Peerapol Huangching (Rayong, THAILAND) is tied for 33rd at 81 (+9).

Junior Avery Alexander (Christiansburg, Va.) and sophomore Jhon Ojeda (Cali, COLOMBIA) both carded an 84 (+12) to sit tied for 45th overall and complete the scoring for E&H. Freshman Peyton Spangler (Roanoke, Va.) rounds out the squad after shooting a +15 (87) and is tied for 60th.

The Leaders
Point University is the team leader at 295 (+7) with all four of its scoring players in the top 15. Jacob Joseph paces Point after firing a -4 (68) on Monday and leads the field by four shots.

A.J. Rhinehardt of Walters State Community College is second at even par (72) with a trio of players two shots back in a tie for third.

Bob Jones University and the Hampden-Sydney College "B Team" are tied for second place 10 strokes out of first at +17 (305).
